Dr. McCarty, a lifelong resident of the Austin area, established Cedar Park Eye Care in 2002. With over two decades of experience, he has provided comprehensive eye care services to families and co-managed numerous LASIK surgery cases. Dr. McCarty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Southwest Texas State University and a doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. McCarty is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and Central Texas Optometric Society. He has served as President and Secretary for the Central Texas Optometric Society, and currently serves on the Continuing Education division of the Texas Optometric Association. He has worked as an adjunct Associate Professor for the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. McCarty is licensed in the state of Texas as a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. He is a member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. McCarty partakes in many activities that central Texas has to offer. He enjoys golfing, running, boating, competitive pistol and rifle shooting and most of all, spending time with his wife, Shannon and their children, Jolie and James. Family has always been a huge part of his life as most of his live within a few miles of his practice.
